Brother Frank Schaffner Back At Morning Prayer

Brother Frank Schaffner, who started the Coudersport Gospel Tabernacle morning prayers nineteen years ago, returned to morning prayer this morning.

Brother Frank was shopping at Walmart in Olean recently when he fell over a new rack that was being constructed in an aisle.

He was taken to the Olean Hospital by ambulance, suffering from a broken nose, and a broken arm at his left wrist, bruises and lacerations.

Brother Frank, who is an eternal optimist, said his pain is bearable, and although his arm is in a cast, he hopes to be back in church on Sunday. He said he's getting "an awful lot of attention since the accident."

Frank's wife, Vera, nursed a broken hand for months last year, after she was injured in an auto accident. Frank said "I'm glad it was me and not Vera that got hurt."

God bless you, Brother Frank. We love you!!

Honduras Missionaries Will Speak Wednesday

Rosemary Nelson and Barbara Marang, Missionaries to Honduras will speak Wednesday night at 7:00pm at the Coudersport Gospel Tabernacle.
Wednesday--July 30, 2008---7:00 pm

For over sixteen years Rosemary Nelson and Barbara Marang, have served as missionaries in the country of Honduras. Through the many hardships of Honduras, from being the second poorest nation in the western hemisphere, to the fury of Hurricane Mitch, these devoted women have preached the Gospel.

Their work has now grown to a ministry of over 2,000 people a week. The work includes nightly Bible studies throughout the city of Choluteca, food ministry to thousands weekly, assistance to widows and orphans, and the beginning of two new churches.

One church being in New Choluteca, an area where thousands died during Hurricane Mitch, is now seeing explosive growth with over 400 people attending Bible study and their latest miracle, Church in the Heavens, a church plant located in the remote mountains of Honduras has begun the construction process.

These two woman missionaries will speak at the Coudersport Gospel Tabernacle on Wednesday night, July 30, 2008. Come and hear the wonderful things God is doing there through their ministry. Time is 7:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Long Time Member, Former Potter County Judge H.B. Fink, Did His Best To Bring People To Christ

Former Potter County District Attorney and Judge H.B. Fink, was a long time member of the Coudersport Gospel Tabernacle Church. You could depend on a smile and a bit of friendly conversation anytime you happened to cross paths with him on a Sunday.

After being removed from the bench for publicly encouraging people to find an new life in Christ, H.B. ,as he was lovingly called, started a private law practice in Port Allegany from which he retired a couple of weeks ago at the age of 81.

The unconventional Judge, with a smile and a twinkle in his eye, was hard to dislike, even when he sent you to jail. As an attorney, he was well respected and would give his clients his best representation, even in cases other lawyers wouldn't take.

At the Gospel Tabernacle, he seldom missed a Sunday service, until recently as his illness overcame him. H.B. Fink was a loving man and his presence here will be missed.

Friends will be received Thursday at the Coudersport Gospel Tabernacle from 5:00 to 7:00 pm where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm.
